I was named after my older sister’s pediatric cardiologist.
I love Jesus.
I will become a wife to the man of my dreams on May 18, 2013.
I love words, dogs, music, and the oxford comma.
I want to seek and share the truth. If I am not striving to better humanity, I am wasting my words.
I am a senior at Mississippi State University pursing my degree in Communication with a broadcasting emphasis. I will graduate in May 2013.
My interest in journalism sparked when I began writing for The Reflector, the student newspaper of Mississippi State. I have written for news, entertainment and life, and the opinion section for each year of college. I currently write an opinion column called “The Constant” and serve on the editorial board as the opinion editor.
I chose the path of broadcasting because of my fascination with the industry of television news. I worked as a student anchor for This Week at Missippi State and learned skills such as writing, producing, editing, directing, and operating studio cameras and various other studio equipment through my broadcasting classes at MSU.
Each summer of college, I worked as a staffer for CentriKid Camps, a childrens summer camp through LifeWay Christian Resources. In 2010 I was a team leader and actor; in 2011 I was a production leader; in 2012 I was a camp director.
I am thrilled to currently be serving as an intern for WMC-TV Action News 5 in Memphis, Tenn. I will graduate and move to Atlanta, Georgia in May.
